Draftsman

Role Overview

The position of QS cum Draftsman entails planning, preparing, scheduling, and revising drawings promptly for tender submissions and job orders. This role involves collaboration across teams to design proposals and select materials that fit budget constraints and client requests, obtaining specifications and dimensions from sites and vendors.

Key Duties

• Organize, coordinate, and monitor instructions among sales, production teams, and clients regarding job orders and designs to ensure specifications are met, progress is tracked, and projects are smoothly handed over upon completion.
• Prepare detailed bills of quantity for job orders cost-effectively, including resource take-offs such as materials and labor hours. Analyze and produce cost plans and estimates for tenders and projects.
• Engage with consultants and vendors to maintain compliance with relevant regulations, current practices, and implement updates or changes as needed.
• Respond to client inquiries, perform site surveys to assess conditions, and determine requirements for installation, delivery, and setup.
• Oversee quality control to guarantee finished products meet specified designs and job orders.
• Implement efficient production and safety practices, ensuring all files and drawings are systematically organized and securely maintained.
• Offer support to production, procurement, and logistics departments.
• Compile and submit project reports to project managers and customers, ensuring the workspace is safe, clean, and orderly.
• Perform additional related tasks and ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in construction, building projects, project management, or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and both 2D and 3D drafting software.
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, teamwork orientation, and good interpersonal communication abilities.
• Diploma or NTC 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
