Prairie Bus Lines invites skilled and enthusiastic individuals to apply for the role of Dispatcher at our Red Deer location. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to daily transit operations by coordinating driver schedules, managing communication channels, and assisting in administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign driver routes equitably, ensuring all shifts are covered efficiently.
• Uphold fairness and consistency in line with the Driver Handbook and company policies.
• Handle inquiries from drivers and the public professionally while resolving any operational issues.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with drivers via telephone and radio dispatch.
• Complete all necessary reports, documentation, and operational requests accurately and promptly.
• Conduct general office and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Capability to multitask, stay organized, and perform effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong customer service mindset paired with courteous and professional interaction skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; attentive listening and empathetic response skills.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Good understanding of company procedures and basic bus operating practices.
• Competent map reading skills, especially of Red Deer's road networks and key points.
• Effective time management and task prioritization abilities.
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
• Possess a clear criminal record.

Working Conditions

The role operates Monday through Friday with shifts scheduled within business hours from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Compensation

The position offers an hourly wage of $22.24.
