Director, Logistics

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and commercially focused Director of Logistics to spearhead the growth, strategic planning, and development of the logistics sector within a rapidly evolving business landscape. This leader will enhance sector competitiveness and advancement across supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and trade facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement strategies and growth plans for the logistics sector.
• Identify and leverage opportunities to fortify logistics ecosystems including supply chain, warehousing, freight forwarding, and transportation.
• Initiate programs that boost operational efficiency and sector competitiveness.
• Keep abreast of global trends in logistics, trade flows, and supply chain innovations.
• Create value propositions to draw logistics operators, distributors, e-commerce entities, manufacturers, and supply chain firms.
• Engage investors locally and globally to promote logistics sector opportunities and expansion.
• Drive business development efforts to increase logistics-related investments.
• Maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders in logistics and supply chain sectors.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to uncover growth potential.
• Evaluate emerging developments in automation, digital supply chains, smart warehousing, and sustainable logistics.
• Develop informed business cases and strategic plans to underpin sector growth.
• Build and nurture partnerships with logistics providers, shipping lines, airlines, manufacturers, regulators, and government agencies.
• Collaborate with industry associations and ecosystem players to boost sector advancement.
• Represent the organization at various logistics, trade, and supply chain forums and conferences.
• Support planning and enhancement of logistics infrastructure and associated services.
• Identify technological, policy, and operational necessities for sustainable sector expansion.
• Assist initiatives that streamline trade facilitation and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Lead cross-departmental projects and initiatives for sector development.
• Establish key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate sector progress and economic impact.
• Prepare detailed reports, business cases, and presentations for senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or International Trade.
• Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, trade facilitation, or related areas.
• Proven track record in developing logistics strategies, business development, or managing large logistics operations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global supply chains, trade flows, warehousing, distribution, and transport sectors.
• Experienced in managing senior stakeholder and investor relations.

Preferred Background

• Experience with logistics parks, free zones, ports, airports, shipping, transportation, or supply chain organizations.
• Background in investment promotion, economic or commercial development.
• Familiarity with large-scale logistics infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to e-commerce, fulfillment, and last-mile logistics operations.
• Knowledge of digital supply chains, logistics automation, and smart warehouse technologies.
