Role Overview
The Director of FP&A will oversee the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic financial initiatives for the Entertainment segment. They will collaborate closely with business units to inform decisions by developing financial models, analyzing performance metrics, spotting key risks and opportunities, and delivering clear, executive-level financial insights. Acting as a finance partner across departments, this role guides investment evaluations and optimizes resource allocation while enhancing financial reporting processes and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial planning for designated business units, regions, or corporate sectors.
- Collaborate with leadership to create detailed revenue and expense projections.
- Develop and manage complex financial models supporting operating plans, strategic initiatives, investments, and scenario analyses.
- Identify business drivers, risks, and opportunities, communicating their financial implications.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports including variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and comprehensive presentations for executives and board members.
- Analyze performance compared to budget, forecasts, and historical data, providing clear interpretation and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor revenues, licensing arrangements, brand portfolios, expenditures, and strategic investments.
- Act as a trusted advisor to functions such as branding, licensing, marketing, legal, and operations to examine initiatives and commercial opportunities.
- Translate complex financial information into understandable insights for stakeholders outside finance.
- Support analysis of deals, partner assessments, contract economics, and ROI where required.
- Drive continuous enhancements in FP&A workflows, reporting accuracy, automation, and financial governance procedures.
- Collaborate with finance teams to align financial systems and reporting mechanisms.
- Strengthen financial controls, planning schedules, and performance management processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Professional qualification such as CIMA and a bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related disciplines.
- Several years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in FP&A or commercial finance roles within the entertainment industry.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and financial software like Oracle or NetSuite.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective business partnering skills to collaborate internally and externally.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and ambitious personality ideal for driving results.
