Development Specialist

Overview

The Child Development Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering the growth and well-being of children with disabilities and their families through a family-focused approach in natural settings. This position entails conducting assessments, delivering home-based instruction, managing cases, supporting family participation and advocacy, and arranging playgroups. The specialist is also responsible for thorough documentation, overseeing the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's degree in early childhood, special education, psychology, social work, or an equivalent discipline is required.
• At least one year of direct experience working with children from birth to three years, including those with disabilities.
• CPR and First Aid certification are essential.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
• Possession of a valid driver's license for Nevada is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills, well-honed organizational abilities, and capacity to operate independently.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates should have or be working toward an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement or related certification.
• Physical ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds and endure outdoor work conditions, including traveling within the service area, is required.
