Overview

The role of Senior Design Coordinator focuses on leading and managing the structural design and planning aspects of construction projects predominantly in the Building Engineering field. This individual ensures that all structural plans adhere strictly to safety regulations, comply with applicable codes, and fulfill project timelines and budgets. Close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients is critical for smooth project advancement. Reporting will be to the Lead Structure Design Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to integrate structural frameworks with other building systems like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Act as the primary communication bridge between the design team and contractors to guarantee accurate interpretation and implementation of designs during construction.
• Maintain clear and ongoing communication with clients and project stakeholders to provide updates on designs and schedules.
• Ensure structural designs meet the project specifications, align with architectural plans, and satisfy client requirements.
• Partner with design teams to troubleshoot and resolve any design challenges, proposing modifications that enhance functionality and cost efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in structural design or related engineering roles within construction or design industries.
• Experience managing or coordinating design projects involving cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of analytical and structural design principles, familiarity with relevant building codes, and construction standards.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and high-quality outputs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work well in team environments.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Proactive and solutions-driven approach.

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency or working knowledge of structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD is highly beneficial.
• Experience or exposure to BIM and 3D software tools like Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD is an added advantage.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institution.

Professional Experience

Between 3 and 8 years of relevant experience preferably within consultancy or real estate development sectors.
