Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to join our team in Clonmel, supporting the Store Manager in efficiently running the store. As a critical member of the leadership team, the Deputy Manager will ensure smooth store operations, excellent colleague and customer service, and foster a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations, coach team members to deliver outstanding service and maintain product availability and store presentation.
- Assume full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Act as the primary point of contact for colleagues regarding daily queries when Line Managers are unavailable.
- Facilitate effective two-way communication within the store.
- Understand and lead the team to achieve critical performance metrics known as the Big 6.
- Coach and manage colleagues to ensure tasks are prioritized correctly to meet customer demands effectively.
- Analyze reports and systems to implement improvements benefiting both customers and colleagues.
- Exemplify Tesco’s values as a role model to all colleagues.
- Lead the replenishment teams to enhance availability, merchandising standards, and shelf edge quality.
- Create a welcoming and motivating environment for customers and staff.

- Proven experience in retail management.
- Strong passion for engaging with people and delivering excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Flexible mindset for decision-making and adapting to change.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
