Delivery Manager - Amadeus PSS

Job Overview

The Delivery Manager role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of technology projects, from initial planning and requirements gathering through to successful delivery and closure. This position demands ensuring projects provide substantial business value by managing scope, budget, timeline, and quality. Delivery methods include both traditional waterfall and agile frameworks, with responsibilities potentially covering sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet agreed quality standards.
• Manage benefits realization throughout all managed projects.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project plans aligning with business objectives.
• Guide project teams during requirement scoping to identify business drivers and develop innovative solutions.
• Identify key stakeholders and devise effective stakeholder management plans.
• Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders by distributing meeting minutes, status reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to manage scope and control changes.
• Monitor project financials proactively, partnering with cost optimization leads to enhance efficiency.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, supporting the team in resolving challenges and escalating when necessary.
• Report on project delivery status using defined metrics.
• Coordinate with PMO to adhere to governance, best practices, and standards for waterfall delivery.
• Maintain relationships with third-party suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist in post-implementation activities including documenting lessons learned, project closure reports, and benefit realization monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years' experience managing projects using modern waterfall methodology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Experience or knowledge of airline operations such as booking, check-in, cancellations, and re-accommodation, particularly with Amadeus product suite.
• Professional certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or SAFe are advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Capability to integrate agile and traditional project management methods suited to project and business requirements.
• Strong ability to analyze complex risks and issues objectively.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills to foster stakeholder relationships.
• Experience supporting business or development teams using both agile and waterfall methodologies.
