Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service expertise. The role involves delivering top-notch customer support by upholding Walmart's core values, maintaining the deli section's organization, and assisting in stock management and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and zone the deli department effectively.
• Manage inventory by rotating stock and identifying expired items.
• Ensure clear and accurate pricing and signage of merchandise.
• Follow stringent standards for cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature monitoring, safe food handling, and tracking product expiration and sell-by dates.
• Take orders and prepare deli products such as slicing meats and cheeses, cooking fried chicken, and assisting customers as needed.
• Support front-end staff with price verification requests.
• Prepare deli orders and specialty items using slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; fill salads and side dishes for display.
• Keep the deli area clean, organized, and free from debris, hazards, and foreign objects.

Work Conditions and Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.95 per hour.
