Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cyber Security Analyst who is eager to join our cybersecurity team and contribute to safeguarding our company's systems, networks, applications, and information from current and emerging cyber threats. This position requires vigilant monitoring of security events, incident investigation, vulnerability analysis, and aiding in the deployment of security measures to ensure a robust technological environment. Collaboration with IT, software and cloud engineers, risk and compliance departments, and business units is vital to enhancing the security posture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor security alerts, logs, and events via Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
- Conduct thorough investigations and analyses of cybersecurity incidents and malicious activities, responding appropriately.
- Perform vulnerability scans and assessments, assisting with remediation efforts.
- Oversee security across network, endpoints, cloud infrastructure, and applications to detect vulnerabilities and threats.
- Assist with applying and maintaining cybersecurity controls, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Analyze threat intelligence to identify new risks and attack vectors.
- Support incident response, including forensic analysis, determining root causes, and recovery protocols.
- Work collaboratively with IT and engineering teams to enhance infrastructure, cloud, and application security measures.
- Participate in security audits, compliance reviews, and risk management projects.
- Prepare detailed security reports, dashboards, and documentation for management.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices across the organization.
- Maintain comprehensive records related to security incidents, investigations, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities.
- Engage in security testing, threat hunting, and related monitoring tasks as needed.
- Stay informed of the latest cybersecurity technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to foster continual improvements.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at refining security monitoring, incident management, risk mitigation, and overall cyber resilience.
Candidate Requirements
- Solid grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals including information security, network security, and risk management principles.
- Experience with security monitoring technologies such as SIEM tools, endpoint protections, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Familiarity with operating systems, networking basics, cloud security concepts, identity/access management, and vulnerability handling.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards like NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or comparable frameworks is a plus.
- Understanding of incident response, threat detection, threat hunting, malware analysis, and security operations is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, or similar security tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple security alerts efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility in managing sensitive information.
- Self-driven with an ability to work independently and collaboratively with various departments including IT, cloud, risk, compliance, and business units.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with evolving cybersecurity challenges and technologies.
- Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent are considered beneficial.
