Customer Delivery Driver

About the Position

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will represent Tesco on the road by interacting with customers at their homes daily. This job involves more than just driving—it's about providing excellent service with a friendly attitude. The work is physically active and varied, with different shifts and tasks regularly. Although you will spend a large part of your day working alone, you will have the support of managers and colleagues based at the depot when required.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Friday: 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure the customer's shopping arrives in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and carry out all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and dependable for high-quality service.
• Communicate any order changes, substitutions, or items nearing their sell-by date clearly and kindly to customers, offering refunds when appropriate for a smooth experience.
• Handle products carefully, treating each order with the utmost care to preserve quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within scheduled time slots and provide warm, natural customer service at their doorstep to ensure they feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• A warm and friendly manner towards both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to customers' changing requirements and embrace modifications while on the road and at the store.
• Possession of a valid UK, EU, or EEA full or automatic driving license held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
