Customer Delivery Driver - Lichfield Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco, you will be the key contact delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This position involves much more than driving; it requires providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude. The role is hands-on, physically engaging, and diverse, with distinct responsibilities each day. You will operate largely independently on the road but have strong support from a team of managers and colleagues based at the store.

Working Hours

• Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and working environment to ensure products arrive in perfect condition.
• Safely load the delivery vehicle and perform all required checks to guarantee it is fit for the road.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any order modifications, substitutions, or nearing expiry items, handling refunds as necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle deliveries carefully, treating every order with utmost care to preserve quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver within designated time windows, welcoming customers warmly and leaving them feeling valued and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Foster positive relationships with colleagues to enhance team spirit and provide top-tier customer service.
• Be friendly and approachable with both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changes in customer needs while out on deliveries and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least one year with a maximum of three penalty points.
