Role Summary

The Crew Pay Analyst is the expert authority on Crew Pay, responsible for analyzing compensation for Air Canada Mainline and Rouge according to the CUPE Collective Agreements. This position provides analytical assistance for various statistical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes to ensure that all pay aspects related to the Air Canada/CUPE Collective Agreement are administered correctly, supporting efficient and compliant crew pay management.
  • Lead the creation of pay guidelines and instructions for key stakeholders.
  • Maintain the integrity and efficiency of crew members’ pay for both Air Canada and Rouge by routinely verifying pay accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies, ensuring adherence to the Collective Agreement to avoid unnecessary budget impacts.
  • Perform month-end crew pay analysis prior to payroll runs, recommend corrective actions by assessing broader pay-related effects, ensuring alignment with Collective Agreement parameters.
  • Work closely with Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations Management, and Labour Relations to ensure compliance with legal and contractual pay rules.
  • Analyze crew payroll data and carry out statistical activities to optimize crew pay processes and provide recommendations to the Manager, Crew Pay as needed.
  • Document and communicate crew module requirements clearly.
  • Participate in project groups involving specialized knowledge on crew pay rules, contractual and scheduling rules, and crew planning.
  • Create and review documentation including system specifications, user guides, and training materials prior to distribution to end users.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant workplace by adhering to corporate safety policies, handling data and equipment properly, and reporting workplace concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in business or a related area.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll, scheduling, or a similar operational role within a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of working with collective agreements (CUPE), including familiarity with pay rules and clauses, is an asset.
  • Advanced expertise in Crew Pay and related processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen eye for detail.
  • Possesses creative analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with NetLine, Forum, and other PC applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
