Role Summary

As a Credit Risk Analyst based in the Düsseldorf office with a hybrid working model (4 days onsite, 1 day remote weekly), you will conduct thorough credit assessments for SME clients seeking Ebury's services. This involves analyzing their markets, financial statements, operations, and cash flow modeling to inform risk decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and report to the Regional Head of Credit Risk, handling requests from the Global Head as necessary.
  • Conduct detailed credit evaluations of potential and existing clients applying for Supplier Payment Financing and currency trading products.
  • Present analyses and recommendations to senior management at credit committee meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with front office and operations teams to ensure clear communication and a smooth client journey.
  • Oversee a portfolio of clients by monitoring their credit status and balancing risk and reward for the company.
  • Manage and prioritize your individual workload and pipeline of credit assessments.
  • Coordinate with managers across different regions to provide insights or support when required.
  • Proactively contribute suggestions to improve credit risk processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A university degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Fluent in both German and English languages.
  • Ability to interpret German management accounts (BWA, SuSa) effectively.
  • Solid understanding of business operations with expertise in balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow analysis.
  • Experience or strong knowledge in SME credit underwriting or financial analysis to assess creditworthiness.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills to explain complex financial details clearly.
  • Motivated to work in a demanding, results-driven team setting.
  • Proficient with Excel; familiarity with VBA or Macros is advantageous.
