Job description
Overview
We seek a meticulous Cost Controller to oversee product cost management, inventory control, and cost analysis functions. This position is essential in ensuring precise cost records, tracking production and inventory discrepancies, assisting in financial reporting, and driving cost efficiency projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update Bills of Materials (BOM), standard costs, and costing data for products.
- Handle cost calculations for new products and food menu items prior to their launch.
- Examine variances related to costs, yields, usage, and pricing to identify discrepancies.
- Supervise production material consumption, wastage rates, and inventory handling movements.
- Conduct reviews and reconciliations of inventory balances, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and related costing accounts.
- Engage in physical inventory counts and facilitate adjustments to inventory records as necessary.
- Monitor inventory that is slow-moving or obsolete, suggesting appropriate provisions to management.
- Assist in monthly cost reconciliations, transfer pricing activities, and preparation of financial statements.
- Generate cost-related key performance indicators (KPIs) and management reports to support decision making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- A minimum of three years professional experience specializing in Cost Control, Cost Accounting, or Inventory Accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of costing methodologies, inventory management principles, and variance analysis procedures.
- Experienced user of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Professional certifications such as CMA or CPA are considered an advantage.
Industry Background
Preferred candidates will possess background experience in sectors such as food manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), production environments, or restaurant operations.
