Role Overview

We have a new position open for a skilled Contract Administrator to join a respected commercial construction company based in Perth, Western Australia. This role involves working alongside Project Managers and Site Teams to ensure the commercial success and high-quality delivery of projects across the region. This is a collaborative environment where your expertise in contract management will influence project outcomes positively while supporting the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction contract administration from project initiation through to completion.
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors, lead contract negotiations, and facilitate subcontractor establishments.
  • Prepare and manage progress claims, handle contract variations, and manage contract-related correspondences.
  • Monitor budgets, forecast cash flows, and provide monthly cost reporting.
  • Coordinate purchasing and procurement processes.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contract filing systems.
  • Engage closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, consultants, and clients to ensure project alignment.
  • Develop and maintain robust subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure projects meet commercial, quality, scheduling, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards.
  • Support the management of permits, statutory approvals, warranties, operational manuals, and project close-out documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Contract Administrator within the commercial construction sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts and their administration.
  • Strong commercial insight with demonstrated skills in managing project finances and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison capabilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with teamwork strengths.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian construction methodologies and contract requirements.

Tertiary education in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related fields is well-regarded. Familiarity with software tools such as Aconex, HammerTech, Jobpac, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project is advantageous.
