Job description
Overview
The role involves leading content strategy initiatives, including conducting extensive audits of website content to pinpoint and address redundancies, outdated elements, or unclear sections. Recommendations on website structure, content organization, user journeys, and information architecture are integral. The candidate will refresh and rewrite web content to make it clear, accessible, and aligned with business goals, employing user-centered and plain-language principles.
Content Development
- Perform thorough audits to assess and improve existing website content.
- Enhance content organization and site hierarchy to optimize user experience.
- Produce concise, user-focused web copy demonstrating consistent tone and style.
- Apply accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 and ensure inclusive content practices.
Accessibility and SEO
- Ensure all content aligns with accessibility guidelines, including writing meaningful alternative text for images and maintaining logical heading hierarchy.
- Develop SEO-optimized content including page titles, meta descriptions, and URL naming conventions.
Content Management and Collaboration
- Maintain content accuracy and consistency through rigorous proofreading and quality checks.
- Manage style guides, inventories, and respond to stakeholder feedback promptly.
- Work collaboratively with UI/UX designers, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders during website refresh projects.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and support CMS content implementation.
Required Experience
- Proven background in content strategy, UX writing, digital content development, or copywriting specifically for websites.
- Strong editing, proofreading, and content structuring capabilities.
- Familiarity with plain-language principles, web accessibility (WCAG), SEO practices, and CMS platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Singapore Government digital services and CMS platforms like GoWhere (WebSG).
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service Standards and Agile development environments.
- Expertise in large-scale website redesigns or content migrations and public sector content production.
