Role Overview

The Compensation Lead will take comprehensive ownership of compensation systems management, including tools like Radford survey reporting and Pave cycle management, to align with company policies and support employees. This role is central to daily compensation operations and ensuring Affirm's compensation packages remain competitive and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee semiannual compensation processes end-to-end.
  • Lead and contribute to all phases of annual compensation studies to analyze Affirm’s market positioning by reviewing job roles in detail, managing benchmarking survey submissions, and proposing adjustments to cash and equity compensation frameworks.
  • Execute specialized compensation projects involving incentive structures, equity programs, and pay equity evaluations.
  • Manage pay reporting for Affirm's supported geographic regions.
  • Support compensation-related training and internal communication efforts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in compensation or people analytics.
  • Familiarity with compensation management platforms, preferably Pave.
  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for data-driven insights, utilizing tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Sigma Computing, Claude Code, etc.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and responsibility with both autonomous and collaborative work styles.
  • Team-oriented approach with effective communication across cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated integrity and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to analyze complex data problems involving multiple factors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of simplifying complex information for various audiences including senior leadership.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to balance multiple shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory standards ensuring compliance across all compensation plans and programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The position falls under Pay Grade K and Equity Grade 4. Incoming employees typically start at the beginning of the salary band, structured transparently based on factors like location, experience, and job skills. The annual base salary range in Canada is from 112,000 to 172,000 CAD. Additional compensation components include equity awards and monthly stipends for health, wellness, technology expenses, plus comprehensive benefits such as fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their dependents.

Work Environment

Affirm operates as a remote-first company, allowing employees to work nearly anywhere within their country of employment. Some roles require occasional attendance at local Affirm offices, while others are primarily office-based due to job duties.
