Position Overview

This role involves preparing culinary ingredients by accurately portioning, chopping, and properly storing food items. Tasks include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, measuring ingredients, and mixing components as per recipe needs. Preparing various foods, including cold dishes, and operating cooking appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers are key responsibilities. Ensuring food is adequately cooked through testing and monitoring quality during preparation is essential. The role also requires setting up and dismantling the workstation, serving food in correct portions, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients through portioning, chopping, and storing.
• Wash and peel fresh produce.
• Measure and mix ingredients appropriately.
• Cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare cold dishes.
• Use various kitchen appliances safely and effectively.
• Test food for doneness and monitor its quality during preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Ensure the proper temperature of appliances and foods.
• Set up and clear the workstation before and after shifts.
• Serve food in the appropriate portions and containers.
• Follow all company safety and security procedures and report any maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and protect company assets.
• Communicate clearly and professionaly with colleagues and support team objectives.
• Perform physical tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other movements related to food preparation.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of relevant experience in a similar kitchen role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications mandated.
