About the Role
Join a motivated team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and vibrancy of Sydney's inner city. This permanent full-time position involves operating various cleaning techniques and equipment to ensure footpaths, roads, and public spaces remain inviting and well-kept. This role offers comprehensive training across multiple specialized cleansing tasks, including manual street cleaning, pressure cleaning, and mechanical sweeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual sweeping and removal of bulk waste such as illegal dumping.
- Clean footpaths, roadways, plazas, and public precincts.
- Service street litter bins using different methods and equipment.
- Operate or be willing to learn to operate small mechanical sweepers and waste collection vehicles.
- Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements and Eligibility
- Be physically fit to handle demanding manual tasks.
- Possess a current Class C driver’s license with a clean driving history.
- Available to work weekday shifts, occasional weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience in waste removal is preferred.
- Willingness to develop skills further, including obtaining Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licenses for career progression.
- Completion of pre-employment health declaration and medical assessment is required.
