Role overview
This executive role is responsible for shaping and running the company’s operating model, guiding enterprise-wide management, and building the framework for global business execution. The position is focused on driving efficiency, strengthening risk controls, and supporting long-term strategy in a fast-scaling environment.
The COO will have broad ownership across financial services, digital assets, fintech, cross-border payments, and international capital operations. Core accountability includes operational leadership, organizational development, process improvement, compliance governance, and global expansion.
Reporting directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors, this leader is part of the senior executive team and contributes to major operational decisions and long-range strategic planning.
Strategic and operational leadership
Set and execute the company’s operating strategy and international growth plans. Build a scalable, globally oriented operational structure, lead restructuring efforts to improve efficiency, and track key performance indicators to ensure strategic goals are met.
Financial operations
Oversee operations connected to financial services, payments, clearing, trading, and treasury functions. Manage cross-border financial activity and international market operations while improving customer service workflows, business processes, and operational risk controls. Ensure day-to-day operations comply with global financial regulations and standards.
Risk, control, and governance
Design and maintain the internal control environment and operational risk management systems. Lead AML and KYC operating processes, coordinate with regulators, legal advisors, and audit teams, and promote strong governance, data security, and operational transparency.
Team leadership and organization building
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing international operations organization. Encourage collaboration across functions, strengthen company culture, oversee senior operational leaders and business heads, and improve execution speed and decision quality across the business.
Partnerships, capital, and expansion
Support fundraising, capital operations, and international strategic partnerships. Work closely with investors, the Board of Directors, and institutional partners to advance global market growth and execute business strategy.
Innovation and digital finance
Drive initiatives tied to fintech, AI, and digital assets. Monitor developments in blockchain, digital payments, and crypto-finance, and help integrate technology more deeply into operating systems and business processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant international finance qualifications are preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in finance, fintech, or international corporate management.
- Minimum 8 years in senior operations leadership or COO-level roles.
- Background in international finance, digital assets, payment systems, or cross-border operations is preferred.
- Strong command of financial operations systems and organizational management.
- Demonstrated success in global operations and strategic planning.
- Working knowledge of international financial regulations and risk control frameworks.
- Exposure to digital assets, fintech, and blockchain ecosystems is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, strategic execution, business judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Strong cross-cultural communication ability and experience managing international teams.
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing environment.
Key performance measures
Performance will be measured by operational efficiency, organizational growth, revenue expansion, risk control and compliance outcomes, customer satisfaction, service quality, team performance, and overall organizational stability.
Work arrangement
The role is described as remote or hybrid, with a placement tied to an international financial hub and an international finance and digital asset operations center.
