Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Cell Assembly Process Engineer to join our quality assurance team based in Markranstädt, Saxony. This position offers the chance to significantly impact our goal of achieving a net zero future by supporting energy savings, reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and advancing the global energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting during commissioning and ramp-up phases of cell assembly equipment.
- Serve as the main technical liaison with cell assembly equipment suppliers.
- Manage and monitor supplier action items until full resolution.
- Assist in equipment validation activities including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and Run-at-Rate testing.
- Identify potential technical risks affecting production readiness and escalate as necessary.
- Develop and implement process validation strategies.
- Support equipment, product, and process qualification efforts.
- Define optimal process parameters and create operating standards.
- Pinpoint critical process factors and manufacturing constraints.
- Conduct structured root cause analyses addressing process, equipment, and quality concerns.
- Apply data-driven problem-solving techniques effectively.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to tackle complex manufacturing challenges.
- Document lessons learned and ensure their integration.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners including Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Automation, and R&D, alongside external suppliers.
- Lead technical discussions with equipment vendors.
- Report project progress, risks, and mitigation approaches to management.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering disciplines relevant to process, mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
- Three to five years of process engineering experience, preferably within battery or cell production or in high-volume industrial manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in overseeing equipment commissioning, ramp-up, and acceptance testing phases.
- Strong competencies in root cause analysis and data-driven problem resolution.
- Hands-on experience in establishing process validation, operating ranges, and standards.
- Capability to manage collaborations among cross-functional teams and external providers to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Excellent technical communication skills, adept in briefing management on project status and risks.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage.
- Background in battery, electronics, or industrial manufacturing sectors is preferred.
