Overview

Join a dynamic team at the bustling catering unit located in Perth Airport as a full-time Catering Leading Hand. This role emphasizes leadership, operational excellence, and adherence to quality standards in the aviation catering sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exemplify leadership by effectively performing duties of both Senior Catering Attendants and Catering Attendants.
  • Oversee, train, and induct team members, ensuring full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Implement quality control measures meticulously to meet customer specifications consistently.
  • Maintain organisation within assigned work areas, achieving productivity and performance goals.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct investigations into any stock discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of knives and machinery relevant to catering operations.
  • Manage team schedules, including break times and rosters, to ensure proper workflow.
  • Exhibit excellent organisational and time management capabilities.
  • Execute management directives effectively.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Carry out administrative and reporting tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Galley Loading, Cart Packing, and Equipment Loading Plans as required.
  • Adhere to company policies governing HALAL standards, HACCP, QSAI/Food Safety, Workplace Health and Safety, Quarantine, and Customs.
  • Adapt flexibly by contributing to other unit areas during shifts to accommodate operational needs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Availability to work various shifts across a seven-day week on a full-time arrangement.
  • Previous experience in a food preparation or catering environment.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Competence in basic knife handling.
  • Good fine motor coordination.
  • Access to reliable personal transportation.
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Comprehensive understanding of workplace health, safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Experience with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work efficiently under pressure in a busy open-plan kitchen environment.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
