Role Overview

Job Function
As a Train Traffic Controller (Zugverkehrssteuerer), you'll operate from the signal box to guide and manage train traffic, ensuring operations are safe, punctual, and seamless.
The position is based at various DB InfraGO AG locations including Bad Liebenwerda, Gröditz, Hoyerswerda, Lauta, Lohsa, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Riesa, Röderaue, Senftenberg, Weißkeißel, Weißwasser/O.L., and Wülknitz.
Retraining Program
- The retraining is conducted full-time (39 hours per week) combining theoretical and practical sessions.
- Theoretical lessons take place in one of the regional training centers, with practical assignments organized close to your residence if possible.
Key Responsibilities Post-Retraining
- Control train traffic at various signal boxes of different sizes using levers, push buttons, and rotary switches.
- Set travel routes by configuring tracks, switches, and signals to guarantee safe train departures, for example from stations.
- Oversee operational activities within railway stations.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with fellow signal box operators, train drivers, and control centers.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a completed vocational training qualification such as retail salesperson, restaurant specialist, bakery sales assistant, or office clerk.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Maintain composure and clear judgment even in demanding situations.
- Exhibit team spirit and take responsibility willingly.
- Be prepared for shift work including nights, weekends, and public holidays while retaining a healthy work-life balance.
