Job Overview

The Captain is responsible for piloting assigned flights according to the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation regulations. The role demands ensuring utmost safety, security, and operational efficiency throughout flights, managing flight and cabin crews, handling emergencies effectively, and maintaining a positive corporate reputation.

Primary Duties

• Pilot the assigned aircraft between destinations following approved schedules and flight plans, placing priority on safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
• Ensure compliance with the Airline’s Operations Manual and aviation regulations for safe and smooth flight operations.
• Attend flights punctually, maintain proper grooming, health, and legal certifications; conduct thorough pre-flight briefings of crew members.
• Coordinate with co-pilots and dispatch teams before flights to prepare crew with necessary details such as aircraft status, route information, weather, fuel, and role assignments.
• Optimize fuel usage during flights within safety guidelines.
• Oversee safety, security, fuel, and transit checks before, during, and after flights; direct crew response to irregularities and decide on escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with maintenance engineers, MCC, and MROs to verify aircraft readiness and address any technical issues promptly.
• Ensure accurate documentation and logging as per airline and regulatory standards, including technical logs, journey books, and reports.
• Maintain updated knowledge and compliance of airline operations manuals and regulatory requirements from civil aviation authorities and relevant entities.
• Perform additional ground-based roles such as Safety Officer or Security Officer as assigned.

Qualifications and Training

• Must hold a valid ATPL License.
• Successful completion of technical and psychometric pilot assessments as required by the airline and aviation authorities.
• Pass mandatory medical fitness examinations per aviation regulations.
• Formal safety and emergency response training, with additional credentials considered advantageous.
• Knowledge of airport security procedures and regulations beneficial.
• Training in Crew Resource Management and familiarity with IATA security principles regarded as assets.
• Proficient in aircraft systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities including technical report writing and presentations.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 4000 flight hours; experience on Airbus 320 preferred.
• Previous work experience in a low-cost airline environment is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of aircraft systems and operational procedures.
• Knowledge and capability to perform roles related to safety, security, and regulatory compliance as delegated.
• Experience with QA, safety, security, and audit protocols connected to flight operations.
• Ability to implement regulatory policies, procedures, and manuals effectively.
• Ability to work efficiently under heavy and dynamic workloads, including unplanned scenarios.
• Calm, confident, and focused demeanor with proven emergency and threat management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend cost-efficient solutions.
