About the Role

Join the Tesco Café team as a Barista, where your passion for quality food, drinks, and exceptional customer service will shine. Whether customers stop in briefly or linger for social moments, you'll ensure they enjoy expertly crafted coffee, tea, and seasonal beverages that brighten their day. Use your barista skills or hospitality experience to lead and share knowledge with your team members, delivering fast, attentive service while adhering to menu offerings and new initiatives. You'll regularly check stock levels and manage customer needs with efficiency.

At Tesco Café, growth and development are encouraged; you will support your team’s skill-building alongside the Café Manager and engage with learning resources such as the Click and Learn portal to deepen your expertise. Note that applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve a variety of drinks swiftly and efficiently to customers.
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to meet required standards.
• Monitor stock levels regularly and adhere to Tesco policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Café Manager to identify and nurture barista talent within the team.
• Stay informed about Tesco communications, offers, and menu updates.
• Attempt to resolve customer complaints when possible.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Barista or in hospitality.
• Strong dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
• Confidence and ability to train and coach team members inclusively.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Proactive initiative to enhance work processes and adapt to different scenarios.
• Effective communication skills to support teamwork and management.
