About the role

This permanent Operational Data Analyst position supports customer resolution initiatives by completing operational data work accurately and on time. The role uses SAS capability and banking process knowledge to help run the Customer Resolution program and associated data tasks.

• Run processes in the Payments Claims Portal.
• Refresh standard datasets from manually provided inputs, including Term Deposit rates and GTIR customer data.
• Track exception reports and recover processes after failures.
• Take on additional operational tasks as standard processes change over time.

Day to day responsibilities

• Prepare documentation for CR squads so they know what is needed to make customer payments.
• Receive and process files provided by Customer Resolution squads.
• Support other business teams by creating SDA files when required.
• Accept files from across the business and load them into the correct databases.
• Work within an Agile project team.
• Use SAS coding to build files and operational processes.
• Carry out basic data analysis and business process analysis.
• Maintain workflows and troubleshoot them when they fail.
• Validate and reconcile payments.
• Maintain a strong focus on accuracy for customer remediation work, especially payments.
• Coordinate with CR squads on timing and availability.
• Monitor scheduled exception reports and resolve any processing failures.

Skills and experience

• SAS coding experience, including development and analysis, or similar data coding skills with the ability to learn basic SAS quickly.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work well with people at different levels.
• High standards for output quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
• A strong sense of urgency and comfort working to deadlines.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Understanding of operational risk and willingness to raise possible or actual breaches.
