Position Overview

We the Makers is seeking a Brand Designer specialized in marketing and brand design to join a multidisciplinary team for a contract role based in Los Angeles, CA. This opportunity spans over 12+ months with a pay rate of $53 per hour on W2. The role focuses on delivering superior creative execution in brand storytelling through innovative design, art direction, and motion, particularly within the sports category. The Specialist II supports Lead Designers and Art Directors in producing compelling campaign visuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute positively to the creative culture by thriving in a fast-moving, collaborative environment fueled by a passion for sports and design excellence.
  • Assist Lead Designers and Art Directors in maintaining consistent and elevated design and art direction outputs aligned with brand standards.
  • Engage in hands-on creative work, leading with curiosity and precision to execute daily design projects and confidently present creative concepts.
  • Stay updated on cutting-edge trends influencing fashion, design, film, art, media, sports culture, and technology relevant to the design team and brand objectives.
  • Collaborate closely to ensure meticulous attention to creative details to produce best-in-class visual materials.

Collaborative Relationships

This role partners with Art Directors, Senior Creative Directors, Designers, Brand Marketing Directors, Narrative Leads, Retail Design, Digital Design, Production & Operations teams, and external agencies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven creative competence to operate both independently and within teams, managing time effectively to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Strong expertise in art direction and design, with a track record of delivering high-quality photography, graphic design, video content, digital designs, and experiences in the sports sector on schedule and within budget.

  • Excellent communication skills to visually articulate complex concepts, facilitating clear alignment and persuasive influence among stakeholders.
