About The Role

Greenstar is seeking a vigilant and safety-oriented Banksman to oversee vehicle movement at our bustling Widnes location. This position involves direct coordination with drivers, weighbridge operators, and other site personnel to ensure traffic flow within the yard is managed securely and efficiently. It is a dynamic, outdoor role that requires clear communication, attentiveness, and confidence in a fast-paced operational environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Control vehicle movements safely throughout the site yard.
• Provide unambiguous signals and instructions to drivers.
• Coordinate with weighbridge and operational teams effectively.
• Ensure newcomers complete the mandatory site induction process.
• Monitor adherence to site operating hours and traffic guidelines.
• Report any drivers not following movement protocols.
• Enforce the use of personal protective equipment on site.
• Maintain the yard by removing debris and hazards promptly.
• Arrange cleaning resources as necessary.
• Support other teams on site as required.

Candidate Profile

• Exemplary communication skills with confidence in instructing drivers.
• Strong awareness of safety practices and keen observation.
• Capable of working collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
• Comfortable working predominantly in outdoor conditions.
• Preferably has prior experience in environments such as yards, recycling centers, or logistics.
