Role Overview
As a backend software engineer, you will be responsible for developing the foundational systems powering BJAK's AI Neobank application. This entails creating reliable APIs, workflows, and infrastructure capable of scaling over multiple markets, partnerships, and millions of users.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank platform.
- Support a variety of financial products including insurance, payments, wallets, savings, investments, travel, and additional financial services.
- Design and implement resilient systems managing user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliations, notifications, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to expedite customer-facing feature delivery.
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other external partners.
- Enhance system reliability, monitoring capabilities, security, and overall performance.
- Construct systems that uphold practical usability, audit readiness, and comply with regulations governing financial products.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years experience in backend software engineering.
- Strong expertise in API development, database management, system design, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Proven experience building scalable backend services and integrating with third-party systems.
- Deep understanding of security best practices, system reliability, data integrity, and handling operational edge cases.
- Ability to balance trade-offs among development speed, quality, and risk considerations.
- Effective collaborator across product, mobile, operations, and business units.
- Prior background in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking, or regulated environments is highly advantageous.
