Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager – Reporting to join a reputable organization in Dubai, UAE. This position is integral to the financial reporting and accounting department, ensuring precise financial statements, compliance with regulations, and efficient accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive reviews and reconciliations of accounting records before senior management approval.
- Assist in the preparation and completion of quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Manage daily accounting activities adhering to company standards and best practices.
- Examine journal entries and financial transactions to ensure they are accurate and complete.
- Conduct preliminary assessments of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger accounts, collaborating with relevant parties to resolve any discrepancies.
- Supervise reconciliation processes, including cash, bank, and trial balance evaluations.
- Oversee accounts related to reinsurance and external insurers.
- Provide guidance and training to accounting team members regarding systems and procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit activities and requirements.
- Ensure accurate data entry and proper usage of ERP financial systems.
- Promote adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates.
- Contribute to finance-related projects and improvements within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Preferable professional qualifications include ACCA, CA, or CPA certifications.
- Between 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in the insurance industry, including supervisory roles.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 standards is mandatory.
- Proven ability to manage accounting functions, prepare reports, and perform reconciliations.
- Strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Effective communication and skills in managing stakeholders.
- Experience utilizing financial ERP systems.
