The Reserve integrates five wildlife parks offering unique nature-based experiences, extensive green spaces, and an eco-friendly resort, all situated near Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
Role Overview
This role entails the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of a broad range of events within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve's public areas. The primary objectives are to attract visitors, enrich their experience, extend visiting duration, elevate brand awareness, and achieve commercial goals. The Assistant Manager will oversee the full event lifecycle—from initial concept and budgeting through onsite management and final evaluation—while collaborating with diverse internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement events that align with the organization's brand and marketing goals.
- Lead all phases of event planning and delivery, establishing project timelines, budgets, and operational plans.
- Engage closely with internal departments and external stakeholders including partners and vendors to ensure smooth event execution.
- Manage event setup, rehearsals, live operations, maintenance, and post-event breakdown activities.
- Oversee budget tracking and identify ways to optimize spending.
- Source, negotiate, and collaborate with external partners to incorporate suitable activities into Mandai Wildlife Reserve events.
- Coordinate vendor contracts, quotations, purchase requests, and verify adherence to agreements and quality standards.
- Perform site inspections and operational walk-throughs to ensure readiness.
- Maintain comprehensive event documentation including records, asset inventories, and reports.
- Monitor event footfall and key performance indicators to evaluate success.
- Support destination brand building by enhancing guest engagement, prolonging visitor dwell time, and increasing attendance.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, licensing requirements, and internal policies throughout event activities.
- Organize briefing and deployment of manpower for events as needed.
- Prepare post-campaign reports with analysis and suggestions for improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging practices, benchmarking against top attractions locally and overseas.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Events Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, Business, or related fields.
- Minimum five years’ experience in managing events, with a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven skills working with external vendors and cross-functional internal teams.
- Strong capabilities in project coordination, creative event conceptualization, organizational skills, and multitasking.
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Willingness and ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions and participate in physical activities such as site setup and inspections.
- Possession of a Class 3 or 3A driving license is preferred.
