About IMDA and BizTech Group
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is leading Singapore's ambition to become a global leader in the Digital Economy by empowering businesses and the workforce with advanced digital technologies. The BizTech group within IMDA focuses on promoting the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data analytics, 5G, and Trust Technologies. It collaborates closely with the National Research Foundation, academic institutions, and research bodies to drive upstream research and scalable technology translation.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will join the Tech Policy team, which is responsible for devising strategies to leverage emerging technologies that enhance Singapore's resilience and unlock economic opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out research and detailed analysis of technology policies and assess their impacts on diverse stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of evolving technology trends to pinpoint potential policy challenges.
- Formulate strategic approaches for the application of emerging technologies informed by rigorous research.
- Contribute to the development of technology-related policies.
- Ensure alignment of IMDA's initiatives with broader national programs led by entities such as NAIO and NQO.
- Coordinate efforts related to Artificial Intelligence and quantum technologies within IMDA.
- Assess the effectiveness of existing policies and propose enhancements where applicable.
- Engage with key external stakeholders through communication and collaboration on relevant tech policy issues.
- Offer guidance and support regarding technology policy matters within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of five years of experience collaborating with technology teams, either in research or engineering roles.
- A strategic mindset paired with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, complemented by solid presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficient in managing relationships with both local and international partners and stakeholders.
