Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Applications Engineering Specialist to support our growth in Europe by acting as a key interface between customers and our engineering teams based in China. This hybrid role, preferably located in Munich, Germany, involves approximately 30% travel to customer sites and requires bridging technical requirements and solutions seamlessly to ensure high customer satisfaction and project success in the automotive wire harness automation sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering divisions.
• Gather, analyze, and clearly interpret customers' technical needs.
• Translate these needs into structured inputs for the China engineering team to develop solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to formulate technical proposals and solutions.
• Provide prompt, precise feedback and solutions to customer inquiries.
• Support sales processes with technical expertise during presentations and negotiations.
• Conduct on-site visits, discussions, and follow-ups for projects at customer locations.
• Ensure alignment between customer expectations and delivered technical solutions.
• Coordinate regularly with stakeholders in China and North America, including occasional evening work (20:00-23:00 CET) to accommodate time zones, and evaluate client opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Native-level Chinese speaker with fluent English communication abilities.
• German language proficiency is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a structured, solution-focused approach.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Readiness and ability to travel regularly across Europe (about 30%).
• Must possess a valid German/EU work visa, Blue Card, or hold an EU/German passport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive wire harness sector or with automation equipment.
• Familiarity with wire harness technology.
• Valid EU driving license.
• Prior experience working in an international, multicultural environment.
