About the Role
Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is in search of a seasoned AI Expert to lead and advance the strategic adoption and utilization of Artificial Intelligence within the organization. This senior individual contributor role reports directly to the Director General and is responsible for guiding AI strategy, governance, and deploying advanced AI applications across EDE’s regulatory and corporate sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advisory support to the Director General on AI strategies, emerging opportunities, potential risks, and new technologies in AI.
- Discover and prioritize key AI use cases with high impact in regulatory and corporate domains.
- Design and critically assess solutions involving Generative AI, machine learning, AI agents, and intelligent automation.
- Develop and implement frameworks for AI governance, responsible AI practices, and model risk management.
- Evaluate AI platforms, technology vendors, and partners for implementation suitability.
- Offer technical expertise on AI system architecture, data necessities, integration, and scalability challenges.
- Support creation of AI-driven decision-support tools and regulatory technologies.
- Collaborate closely with business units, tech teams, data specialists, cybersecurity, and regulatory departments.
- Monitor emerging AI trends and analyze their relevance to EDE’s mission.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, or related advanced technology fields.
- Expert knowledge in Generative AI, large language models, machine learning algorithms, AI agents, and enterprise AI system design.
- Proven track record of designing or implementing large-scale AI solutions in enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of data architectures, APIs, cloud platforms, and AI integration techniques.
- Hands-on experience with AI governance structures, responsible AI principles, model evaluation protocols, and risk mitigation.
- Capability to communicate complex AI concepts effectively to senior leadership and translate them into strategic recommendations.
- Experience within government agencies, healthcare, pharmaceutical industries, life sciences, or other regulated sectors is highly advantageous.
