Role Summary
The Accounts Paymaster will work full-time on-site at The Town Hotel's Doha location. This position entails managing payment processing and reconciliation, including handling payment card transactions, and ensuring that charges and credits are correctly recorded against guest and supplier accounts. The role requires daily invoice verification, scheduling payments, updating financial records, and collaborating with front office and other departments to resolve billing issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile financial payments and transactions accurately.
- Verify invoices and prepare scheduled payment runs.
- Maintain precise accounting records and support month-end closing activities according to hotel policies and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate with various departments to clarify and rectify billing discrepancies.
- Generate routine financial reports for management review.
- Safeguard payment data and ensure secure handling of sensitive information.
- Address internal and external inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
- Promote and implement improvements in financial workflows and systems.
Candidate Qualifications
- Strong analytical capabilities to accurately review, reconcile, and verify payment and financial data.
- Practical experience with payment card systems and attention to detail in transaction security.
- Good communication skills needed to liaise effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and occasionally guests.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and hospitality-related accounting procedures.
- Background in accounting tasks such as ledger upkeep, reconciliations, and generating basic reports.
- Experience or familiarity with customer service environments, particularly in hospitality, is beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work full-time on-site, and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable using hotel management software and office productivity tools; openness to adopting new technologies.
- Preferred candidates hold a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or analogous disciplines.
