About the Role
YMCA Trinity Group is seeking an Accommodation Relief Worker to support young residents at 2 Wellington Street, Ipswich. This position involves providing flexible, on-site assistance to help young people develop crucial skills needed for independent living. You will contribute to maintaining a welcoming, tidy, and homely atmosphere, promote positive behaviour, and encourage personal development. Your role will be essential in preparing residents for successful resettlement into the community.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal abilities offering warm, face-to-face support to young individuals.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries rigorously.
- Work respectfully, inclusively, and without judgment toward all residents.
- Engage confidently and positively with young people to establish trust and rapport.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness under stressful conditions.
- Utilize computers and digital tools effectively as part of daily tasks.
- Be a proactive team player with a positive attitude, willing to assist colleagues as needed.
Additional Information and Terms
Recruitment involves a mandatory criminal record background check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which YMCA facilitates and funds as part of onboarding. Shifts are varied and scheduled as needed, covering day, evening, and night shifts seven days a week. The role offers compensation at a rate of 12.71 per hour.
