Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a 4th Class Ticket Shift Engineer, your main responsibility will be ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the powerhouse facility. This includes managing boilers and associated equipment, overseeing water treatment and chemical systems, monitoring waste treatment and fire safety systems, and maintaining compressed air systems. You will also perform routine preventative maintenance, conduct troubleshooting and repairs, complete inspections and documentation, and uphold regulatory and company standards related to safety and food quality. Collaboration with production and maintenance colleagues will be central to supporting plant operations, alongside maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a valid 4th Class steam engineering ticket is mandatory.
- Familiarity with steam plant operations is necessary.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
- Comfort in handling various water treatment chemicals.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while displaying exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in all weather conditions, including at heights and in confined spaces.
- Self-driven with strong priority management skills.
- Flexibility for shift work including nights and weekends is essential.
- Willingness to work in a grain processing environment with exposure to allergens such as grain and grain dust.
Working Hours
The position involves a 12-hour modified shift schedule that includes night and weekend shifts.
