Job Overview
The 3D CAD Systems Administrator will manage engineering 3D models across multiple remote satellite offices, ensuring smooth operation and technical support for 3D modeling systems used in shipbuilding, oil & gas, and offshore projects. The role entails setting up and maintaining AVEVA MARINE, E3D, and Hexagon Smart3D Enterprise systems, as well as developing project-specific procedures, templates, and catalogues aligned with company and client requirements.
Key Duties
- Control and oversee 3D model data within engineering departments distributed across international satellite locations.
- Implement AVEVA MARINE, E3D, and Hexagon Smart3D Enterprise software systems for new projects, complying with company and project procedures and deadlines.
- Create and maintain discipline-specific catalogs and specifications for piping, pipe supports, structural elements, electrical, and instrumentation in 3D modeling software environments.
- Ensure the integrity and smooth operation of the 3D model global shared database, including transfer of data to other IT systems.
- Develop and enforce project-specific modeling workflows and procedures; conduct regular multi-discipline 3D modeling training based on client standards.
- Collaborate with project discipline leads to identify needs for development or customization, including automation, template creation, macros, and system interfacing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical difficulties promptly; liaise with software vendor support as necessary across locations to expedite solutions.
- Understand all IT workflows implemented in projects and proactively provide input and warnings regarding technical issues to IT personnel.
- Coordinate effectively with overseas offices on multi-location projects through meetings and communication.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities such as CAD Systems coordinator or D-Eng Lead when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in CAD Systems Administration within shipbuilding, oil & gas, or offshore projects.
- Proficient with AVEVA MARINE and Hexagon Smart3D software, possessing comprehensive knowledge of their modules.
- Experienced in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering stages of offshore projects.
Work Location and Schedule
Based at Admiralty Yard, 60 Admiralty Road West, Singapore 759947. Transport will be provided from Sembawang MRT station.
Work hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
