Job Overview

Arrow Workforce Solutions is seeking Yard Controllers for a busy distribution facility located in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time role requires flexibility to work different shift patterns and a readiness to engage in physical work within an outdoor yard environment.

Work Schedule

• Shift options include: 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM, and 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM.
• Work rotations cover Sunday through Saturday in varying blocks such as Sunday–Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday–Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily operations within the yard area ensuring efficiency.
• Maintain an orderly and secure yard atmosphere promoting safety standards.
• Manage the movement and placement of trailers and equipment accurately.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, and other team members to facilitate smooth operations.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and site rules.
• Be prepared for physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Keep precise records and information to support uninterrupted yard functionality.

Required Qualifications and Traits

• Previous experience in yard, warehouse, logistics, or material handling roles is advantageous.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a yard setting and performing physically intensive work.
• Strong command of the English language for effective communication.
• Flexibility to accommodate varied shift schedules.
• Dependable, punctual, and highly safety aware.
