Overview
Critical Care at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is looking for a motivated and thoughtful individual to join as a Band 4 Ward Administrator. This role involves working flexibly across four units (UCH T03 & T06, GWB, and WMS) to aid in delivering high-quality services within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team setting.
Job Role and Duties
The successful applicant will collaborate with three other Ward Administrators providing comprehensive administrative support both at unit receptions and in coordination with clinical teams in the Intensive Care Units at University College London Hospital. Responsibilities include admitting patients into the patient information system, managing medical document uploads, handling inpatient note collections, attending to urgent queries, and adapting rapidly to emergencies to ensure exemplary service delivery.
Additionally, the post holder will manage the room booking system, oversee the unit environment by conducting regular environmental walks alongside clinicians, and resolve any technical issues that may arise. Cross-cover between ward administrators during absences and busy periods is mandatory to maintain consistent service levels for senior departmental leaders. Excellence in customer service with a proactive attitude and dedication to improving patient experience is essential. Ongoing training and career development opportunities are provided.
Work Schedule and Employment Details
This permanent position requires 37.5 hours of work per week, with shifts available either from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, five days a week.
