Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Van Driver for the Out of School Care program located at our Country Hills branch. The ideal candidate must have prior experience driving a daycare or school bus or van, possess a valid Class 4 driver’s license, and preferably hold or be willing to obtain Alberta Child Care Certification at Level 1, 2, or 3. A clean driver’s abstract and sound driving abilities, especially involving young passengers, are essential. The candidate must demonstrate motivation, adaptability, professionalism, responsibility, and fluency in English. Additionally, they must have or be ready to secure a current criminal record check and first aid certification upon employment.

Main Duties

• Transporting groups of children to and from school during the day safely and reliably.
• Overseeing children's safety during pick-up and drop-off times.
• Engaging actively with school-age children during field trips and within the center's activities.
• Building and maintaining positive connections with children, families, and team members.
• Complying with Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations as well as internal policies to ensure high-quality childcare.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Class 4 driver's license capable of driving the daycare van.
• Experience in childcare or daycare settings is advantageous.
• Possession of or willingness to obtain Level 1, 2, or 3 Alberta Child Care Certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Professional, flexible, and fluent in English.
• Familiarity with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations is preferred.
