Overview
Begin an enriching clinical career with Boots Hearingcare’s fully funded, paid 56-week Qualification in Hearing Aid Dispensing (QHAD) programme. This training balances classroom education with practical clinical experience in our stores, guided by expert clinicians and trainers, paving the way to becoming a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser.
Role Details
As a Trainee Hearing Aid Dispenser, you will cultivate essential clinical skills and confidence to provide outstanding hearing care services within a supervised scope of practice. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting hearing assessments and supporting customers throughout their hearing journey.
- Developing clinical proficiency alongside experienced Hearing Aid Audiologists.
- Engaging in structured workshops, online learning, and guided study.
- Completing written and practical assessments, while maintaining a Clinical Competency Logbook.
- Receiving continuous coaching, feedback, and milestone reviews.
- Gaining hands-on experience across various clinics and delivering exceptional customer care.
Programme Structure
The comprehensive 56-week programme offers:
- Workshops at the Training Centre covering clinical skills, hearing science, patient-centered care, and professional standards.
- Supervised practical experience in stores alongside qualified audiologists.
- Interactive virtual learning sessions combined with independent study.
- Regular assessments on theory and practice.
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring throughout the programme.
Important Dates and Work Conditions
- Programme commences Monday, 19th October 2026.
- Full-time contract entailing 37.5 hours weekly.
- Weekend work is part of the role requirements.

Entry Criteria
- Possession of GCSEs or equivalent with grades of 5 (High C) or above in English, Maths, and Science (with proof required).
- Preferably, prior relevant clinical experience in hearing care support or healthcare roles.
- Availability to work 37.5 hours per week, including some weekends.
- Preparedness to study independently and travel as needed.
