Job description

Role Overview

Join our pharmacy team as a Trainee Dispenser, playing a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare experts within our store to ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services. This position involves working onsite in the healthcare department as you complete your NVQ2 Dispenser training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake and complete the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 training programme.
  • Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring medicines are supplied safely—this includes activities like ordering, labelling, endorsing, and preparing prescriptions for collection.
  • Collaborate with store healthcare professionals to assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services efficiently.
  • Offer care and advice concerning medicines to patients, referring complex queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to uphold legal and safety standards in dispensing.
  • Stay updated about new in-store innovations and consistently comply with operational processes.
  • Support patients in managing their prescriptions through repeat services and promote proper medication adherence to minimize waste.

Training and Development

Engage with evolving in-store technologies aimed at modernizing dispensing procedures to boost patient safety. Regular updates and healthcare education will be provided, along with career progression opportunities such as training as a Pharmacy Technician or advancing into store leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements

  • A strong motivation to learn and complete the NVQ2 Dispenser training course.
  • Valid right to work in the UK is mandatory; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visas is not available.
  • Previous community pharmacy experience is advantageous but not essential.
