About the Role

As a full-time Theatre Cleaner based at Fulwood Hall Hospital, your primary responsibility is to ensure the operating theatres are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards. This role is vital not only for compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness but also for safeguarding patient health and supporting surgical teams in a safe and hygienic environment.

Key Duties

  • Maintain theatres according to infection prevention protocols and healthcare cleaning standards.
  • Complete and act on all tendable reporting and cleaning audits to promptly identify and address areas requiring improvement.
  • Identify and report any theatre maintenance issues such as damaged floors, faulty lighting, or ventilation problems, liaising with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure swift resolution.
  • Contribute to maintaining an outstanding rating by adhering to Functional Risk (FR) 1 requirements and other quality assurance benchmarks.

Candidate Profile

  • A respectful, empathetic personality with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively exercise initiative and decision-making in daily tasks.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a can-do approach to work.
  • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping is required; hospital or healthcare environment experience is preferred.

Work Locations

Primary work site is Fulwood Hall Hospital with potential duties at Euxton and Buckshaw sites.

Additional Information

Employment is full-time for 37.5 hours per week. The position requires passing an Enhanced DBS background check, and safeguarding training will be provided.
