Test Automation Quality Engineer

Job Overview

This position is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, operating primarily onsite with a hybrid schedule requiring four days in the office. The contract lasts for 12 months and includes in-person interviews for local candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage automated test scripts using Python combined with Robot Framework or Selenium with Java.
• Conduct testing of APIs, backend systems, and databases leveraging SQL queries.
• Develop thorough test case designs and automate regression test suites to guarantee comprehensive testing coverage.
• Identify and log defects and collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Integrate automated testing processes into continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
• Maintain test documentation and continuously enhance the efficiency and performance of the automation framework.

Required Qualifications

• Over five years of practical experience in test automation.
• Proficiency in Python with Robot Framework or Selenium with Java.
• Hands-on expertise in SQL as well as API and backend testing.
• Familiarity with source control using Git and CI/CD practices with Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within Agile or Scrum project methodologies.
• Understanding of performance testing techniques.
• Background in financial services or banking sectors.
• ISTQB certification is considered advantageous.
