Technical Business Analyst

Job Overview

Good Day Farm is seeking a dedicated Technical Business Analyst to enhance and expand automation delivery and workflow optimization within the company. This position acts as the critical link between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating complex business needs into actionable and maintainable documentation, while assisting with operational support and issue resolution related to existing tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to clarify objectives and constraints, and thoroughly document workflows and edge cases.
• Create comprehensive artifacts including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
• Transform vague or ambiguous requests into precise and actionable requirements accompanied by clear context and success criteria.
• Establish and uphold documentation standards and templates utilizing Confluence.
• Provide ongoing support by addressing business queries and resolving issues involving automations and internal tools.
• Assess requests for quick fixes versus those needing detailed investigation and documentation.
• Convert needs into actionable tasks, bugs, or user stories, clearly defining scope, impact, and next steps.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and automation developers to align on project scope and minimize rework.
• Execute foundational functional validations such as smoke tests and edge case verifications.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance and stakeholders on major initiatives requiring formal testing procedures.
• Curate and update an easily scalable knowledge base including how-to guides, decision logs, release notes, and known issues repository in Confluence.
• Maintain templates and standards for requirement gathering, intake processes, and all documentation efforts.
• Assist with light configuration and upkeep of operational tools and workflows based on project demands.
• Contribute to bug fixes, software development, and release cycles as expertise develops.
• Support a wide array of departments including Operations, Retail, Fulfillment, and Accounting based on shifting priorities.
• Offer insights to influence decisions and progressively take on greater responsibility guided by mentorship.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Operations Analyst or equivalent capacity.
• Proven ability to gather and document requirements effectively to guide technical teams.
• Basic proficiency in SQL for querying data to verify results, investigate issues, and inform decisions.
• Comfort working alongside developers and technical teams with aptitude for understanding technical concepts such as data flows, system limitations, and integrations.
• Strong skills in written communication, organization, and task follow-through.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure with close attention to detail.

Education and Other Requirements

• High School diploma mandatory; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel as business requirements arise.

Physical Requirements

• Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
• Physical ability to perform activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling during on-site visits.
