About Compass International School Doha

Role Overview

The Teaching Assistant (TA) supports the school's mission by aiding individual students in achieving high educational standards and assisting teachers in optimizing teaching and learning time. The role involves fostering skill development, evaluating progress, addressing individual learning differences, and managing behavior and discipline to maintain a productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individual students to reach high learning standards.
  • Help maximize overall teaching and learning time.
  • Promote skill advancement across the curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student attainment and progress.
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to each child's unique needs.
  • Set challenging yet appropriate targets for student achievement.
  • Maintain clear expectations regarding behavior and assist in enforcing discipline.
  • Contribute to creating an orderly, supportive, and purposeful learning space.
  • Present educational tasks and curriculum content clearly and engagingly.
  • Provide support to students both individually and in groups.
  • Communicate effectively with children.
  • Manage time effectively for oneself and students.
  • Use computers and learning resources constructively to enhance education.
  • Assist students with reading materials, worksheets, and other resources.
  • Guide students in organizing and presenting their work.
  • Explain instructions and expectations clearly to students.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree-level education or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a learning support or related educational role.
  • Preferably under husband/family sponsorship.
  • Strong proficiency in English communication, both written and oral.
