About Future Generation Joint Venture and Snowy 2.0 Project
Future Generation Joint Venture, a collaboration combining the engineering expertise of WeBuild, Clough, and Lane, has been commissioned for the design and construction of Snowy 2.0. Situated in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, this initiative represents one of the largest pumped hydroelectric schemes globally. As Australia's largest committed renewable energy endeavor, Snowy 2.0 will deliver on-demand power and substantial energy storage capabilities for generations. It is a landmark project contributing significantly to Australia's energy future.
Role Objective
The Surveyor will work under the supervision of the Senior Surveyor, assisting with the surveying operations essential to the Snowy 2.0 project execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of tertiary qualifications or an advanced diploma or above in surveying or spatial sciences.
- Holding a valid White Card.
- At least 3 years' practical experience in construction-related surveying roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with large-scale construction projects or comparable assignments is advantageous.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoDesk, 12D Model, Leica Infinity, and MicroSurvey StarNet.
- Strong knowledge of Australian standards, regulations, and policies related to surveying and construction.
- Experience with ground settlement monitoring systems, both automated and manual, including data reporting.
- Understanding of Australian and international standards governing concrete works and earthworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to coordinate effectively across technical teams, site engineers, and external stakeholders with sound interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity software.
- Strong organizational abilities, safety awareness, and adherence to good housekeeping practices.
- Ability to follow work instructions accurately and deliver satisfactory results within a team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Marking all necessary construction lines and levels to ensure precise and consistent build execution.
- Collecting as-built survey data and saving it in proper formats.
- Verifying the accuracy of survey measurements and calculations.
- Providing survey services for accurate positioning and layout according to design drawings, including lines, grades, and elevations.
- Carrying out survey activities in alignment with project schedules.
- Collaborating closely with tunnelling and construction teams on-site.
- Assisting the Senior Surveyor in coordinating with Design Management to verify proposed changes comply with design, environmental, and contractual standards.
