Spray Dryer Operator (Machine Operator)

About the Role

Aroma Enterprises operates specialized flavour and fragrance spray drying lines that transform liquid concentrates and encapsulation formulations (such as emulsions with carriers like maltodextrin or gum arabic) into stable powder form. We are seeking experienced operators skilled specifically in spray dryer machinery to join our team within 10 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, operate, and oversee spray dryer functions during production, managing feed rate, atomizer speed and pressure, and inlet/outlet air temperatures to maintain product specifications.
• Conduct in-process evaluations of powder attributes including moisture content, bulk density, and particle quality; meticulously log data according to SOPs.
• Identify and address process irregularities such as blockages, temperature fluctuations, or inconsistent feed rates, reporting issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Package and organize the produced powder, ensuring precise batch and yield documentation.
• Perform thorough cleaning of spray dryer equipment, the cyclone separator, and related machinery after each production cycle.
• Maintain strict adherence to hygiene and dust control standards (5S), recognizing the combustible and volatile nature of spray-dried powders and aroma compounds, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, ventilation, and hot-surface precautions for safety.
• Calibrate and confirm accuracy of weighing and measuring instruments prior to each shift.
• Support daily batch production planning.
• Execute routine preventive maintenance checks according to the prescribed maintenance schedule.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ hands-on experience operating spray dryers is essential; experience limited to general production or packing lines is insufficient. Candidates should be prepared to specify the plant, type of dryer used, and their detailed responsibilities.
• Educational qualification: ITI certification (Attendant Operator – Chemical Plant preferred), Diploma, or 12th pass.
• Proficiency with process parameters including feed rate management, atomizer control, temperature regulation, and moisture measurement.
• Familiarity with fundamental machine safety practices and protocols for handling combustible dust.
• Willingness and ability to work both morning and afternoon shifts.
• Dependability, strong safety orientation, and responsibility.
• Language skills: proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Tamil and/or Hindi is favorable.
